Responsibilities

  • Installation and training of Cruse and i2s high quality/high resolution rare book and art scanners.

  • Supporting installed base of scanners, managing hardware and software diagnostics as needed

  • Participate in sales support and trade shows as needed.

 

Job Brief

We are looking for a Photographic Support Engineer that will install, train and maintain our Cruse and i2s rare work scanners. This person will also provide direct guidance and support to the end users in proper operations and scanning technique.

The ideal candidate will have a strong photographic background as well as experience maintaining, and supporting PC's and basic networking.

The goal is to support our US customer base to maximize uptime and productivity. Internal and factory escalation procedures are available. In-depth training on our specialized equipment will be provided.

Responsibilities

  • Install and configure rare book scanners and associated software according to manufacture specifications

  • Provide orientation and guidance to users on how to operate new software and computer equipment

  • Organize and schedule upgrades and maintenance without deterring others from completing their work

  • Perform troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve problems (repair or replace parts, debugging, etc.)

  • Maintain records/logs of repairs, fixes, and maintenance schedules

  • Some international travel may be required

 

Requirements

  • Knowledge of Photographic principles and FADGI standards

  • Proven experience as Customer Support Technician or similar position

  • Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication ability

  • Comprehensive understanding of computer systems and networks

  • Degree in Photography, Computer Science or engineering is preferred.

  • Travel to customer sites within North America approximately 25% of time

  • Multilingual in either German, French or Spanish is preferred, but not a requirement.Now
